The original compressed NDJSON and snapshot metadata are also available as NDJSON.gz and meta.json. All files are static downloads; no API account is needed.

Provenance and interpretation

The pipeline reads the public IEEE MA-L, MA-M, MA-S, IAB and CID registries, validates their boundaries, and preserves narrower assignments inside wider parent blocks. When several blocks cover an address, prefer the narrowest matching block. The JSON and CSV files contain the same record fields, including start and end addresses, registrant, country and registry type.

A registry assignment identifies the organization that registered a block. It does not establish the maker, owner or current user of a device. Locally administered addresses can mask that assignment, and the snapshot may lag IEEE changes after its capture time.

For a single address, MAC inspector performs the narrowest-block lookup locally. The interactive datasets tool also offers copyable checksums.
